A debate among the District 7 legislative candidates has been scheduled for this Thursday evening, Sept. 30, in Towner.

The event will start at 7 p.m. in the library at Towner High School and is open to the public, according to Glenna Johnson, president of the Towner Republican Women, who are sponsoring the debate. The debate will include a moderator and the candidates will have a set amount of time to respond to questions and make comments.

The candidates include: Republicans Craig Wollenburg, Rugby; senate; Jon Nelson, Rugby; representative; Richard “Dick” Anderson, Willow City; representative.

Democrats: Ryan Taylor, Towner; senate; Cindy Shattuck, Velva, representative; Marie Marshall, Towner, representative.

District 7 encompasses the counties of Pierce and McHenry as well as western Benson County and northern Sheridan County.
