The Geographical Center is quickly becoming a mecca for Recreational Vehicle travel organizations.

Last month about 150 members of the Good Sam RV organization held a week-long Samboree at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Rugby.

Beginning this Thursday, Sept. 9 members of the Nodak Flicktertails Winnabago Itasca Travelers State Club will motor into Rugby.

Don Sobolik, executive secretary of the Greater Rugby Conventions and Visitors Bureau, said as many as 30 RV units will be in town for up to four days. The group will be touring local attractions, stopping at businesses in addition to holding meetings and suppers and other group functions.

He said it’s another opportunity for the community to showcase its attractions and businesses and a way to pump tourism dollars into the local economy.
