By Staff | Aug 5, 2010

The Rugby Police Department and N.D. BCI are investigating a pair of weekend burglaries that occurred in the city’s industrial park and appear to be connected, according to Luis Coca, police chief.

On Sunday morning, Aug. 1, the police department was contacted that a break-in occurred at TBEI-Rugby. The burglar entered through a window and pried open filing cabinets and removed an undisclosed amount of money.

On Monday morning, Aug. 2, an employee at the Farmers Union Fertilizer Plant discovered a cash drawer had been removed from a locked desk and an undisclosed amount of money taken. The burglar(s) gained entry through a back door.

Law enforcement believe both were committed by the same individual(s) on the same night. Sgt. Justin Maus and Craig Zachmeier, agent with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation are working on the case.
