June rainfall above average

By Staff | Jul 1, 2010

The month of June will surely be remembered for one thing – rain.

June’s precipitation totals were well over the average. A total of 5.53 inches of rain fell in Rugby, according to weather records kept by KZZJ 1450 AM radio, the official weather reporting station for Rugby.

Rain amounts in other areas of the county were reportedly more, including in the Balta and Orrin area where they endured over two inches of rain in one storm system.

All the moisture made for good crop development and green pastures. However, wet fields has prevented many farmers from haying and spraying.
