Integration nearing the last stages
Integration of Rugby’s Heart of America Medical Center and Johnson Clinic is not yet compete, but it is in the final stages, according to Jeff Lingerfelt, HAMC CEO.
Agreements have been reached on all substantive issues and final documents are now in the hands of each entities’ attorneys.
“We’re close, but it’s just hard to really pinpoint when this will finally be wrapped up,’ Lingerfelt said. “I know the employees and community is anxious to see this integration process completed.”
Last September, officials from the clinic and HAMC announced plans to consolidate, a process which has taken nearly nine months to complete. Both see the move as a step toward enhancing services for the community and region and improving the financial picture of both health care providers.
As part of the terms, a slight name change will be coming to the clinic. It will be called, Heart of America Johnson Clinic.
