Cichos elected Rugby Mayor
Dave Cichos is filling a familiar seat in Rugby city government.
Cichos, who served as Rugby mayor from 1994-2002, was elected to a third term on June 8.
He received 642 votes and was the runaway winner in a three-way mayor race which included John Ford and Dennis Fred. Ford received 112 votes while Fred had 95.
“I appreciate the support of voters and I’m looking forward to once again serving the community and working with the council,’ Cichos said.
He becomes the first Rugby mayor to be elected to non-consecutive terms. There have been significant changes since he last held office eight years ago.
Among them are several new faces on the eight-member city council as well as several new city department heads.
The city has also completed several large infrastructure projects during that time.
Cichos will officially be sworn in to the office on Tuesday, June 22.
