New city of Rugby website is a ‘site’ to see
It was a four month project, but it was worth the wait.
The city of Rugby’s new website is on-line and offers a wealth of information and features that were not available on the old site.
“We’re happy with how it came together,’ said Karla Harmel, city auditor-administrator. “We hope people will find it very useful and we welcome comments on how we can make it better.”
The website address is www.cityofrugbynd.com
It includes a listing of current elected city officials complete with pictures as well as a directory of city employees. There is a calendar of upcoming public meetings as well as a segment on frequently asked questions, including city hall office hours; how to obtain pet licenses; sanitation pickup schedule; and utility services.
The site also includes minutes of previous council and committee proceedings as well as meeting agendas.
Users can also access building permits; gaming and liquor license applications; concern/complaint forms; and other documents from the site.
There are also links to other local services and entities, including the chamber of commerce, Pierce County government and the school district.
Site visitors can also place comments and participate in polls.
The previous site launched seven years ago was not updated and lacked the kind of information people today are accustomed to seeing on municipal websites.
Harmel said the site will be maintained and updated by city hall staff. The city also has a Facebook site to list upcoming community happenings.
