Two downtown businesses burglarized
The Rugby Police Department is investigating an early morning burglary on April 10 in Rugby at Nodak Mutual Insurance and Worn-A-Bit on Main Ave. So. downtown.
An employee at Worn-A-Bit arrived at work at 9 a.m. on April 10 and discovered the cash register smashed on the floor. She immediately left the business and contacted police.
An investigation revealed that some time during the early morning hours a person(s) unknown broke in through the alley side of St. Michel Furniture’s storage door, which is located behind Nodak Insurance. Once inside, the burglar broke into a door leading into the insurance office where an indisclosed amount of change was removed from a contain. After an unsuccessful attempt to break into Backstage Gallery and Gift Shoppe, the burglar focused on gaining entry into Worn-A-Bit. Once inside, the burglar went to the cash register, destroying it and taking an undisclosed amount of money.
The burglaries are under investigation and anyone with information concerning these break-ins, should contact the police department at 776-6112.
