Library to implement home delivery service

By Staff | Dec 18, 2009

The Heart of America Library will offer a home delivery service, beginning next month to assist patrons who cannot come to the library during the winter months.

Amy Bryn, librarian, said delivering materials to patrons has been done in the past, but this will mark the first time a regular delivery service will be offered. It will be made on Wednesday afternoons during January, February and March and it is only available for residents in Rugby and those who have a library card. Materials can be requested by telephone. Bryn said a library employee will make the home delivery.

Other public libraries, including Minot, have implemented a home delivery service. As expected, attendance at the library does drop during the colder months due to the weather.

Bryn hopes this program will encourage patrons to still read and access materials at the library during the winter. To sign up for the program, or for more information, contact the library at 776-6223.
