Leeds receives CDGB grant

By Staff | Nov 20, 2009

Leeds recently received a little over $81,000 in Community Development Block Grants from the North Central Planning Council.

A $52,640 grant will be used to renovate the Park Vue Apartments. The four-unit dwelling will get new windows, doors and flooring as well as improvements to its handicapped accessibility.

A $28,363 grant will be used to repair the city’s water tower and replace the roof at the city’s water treatment plant. Insulation will be installed in the tower to prevent it from freezing. That was a problem last winter and meant the city was without fire protection during stretches of extreme cold.
