Bustling with activity

By Staff | Jun 25, 2009

It seems everywhere you turn in Rugby there is construction going on.

And not just on the city streets.

Quite a number of building and renovation projects are currently taking place, making it one of the busiest construction seasons in recent memory in Rugby.

To date, there are 13 building permits filed with city, and four permit applications have been picked up.

The list of work recently completed or ongoing includes:

-Construction of the new North Star Community Credit Union Co-op building along U.S. Highway 2.

-A sizable addition at the Rugby Veterinary Service in the Industrial Park.

-Construction of a new building as part of Farmers Union Oil Company’s new Agronomy Center along First St. Northeast in the Industrial Park.

– A townhouse along Main Ave. So. across from the Northern Lights ballpark.

-Exterior restoration and interior renovation of Little Flower Catholic Church.

-Exterior restoration of the Pierce County Courthouse

-Planned construction of two to three homes/duplex dwellings along Third Ave. S.E.

-A new roof above the indoor pool at the Econo Lodge along U.S. Highway 2.

-The Third Street Station Bar and Grill downtown.

-Outdoor patio and additional seating area for Jester’s Lounge downtown.

The additions and building of new structures is an encouraging sign, showing the confidence businesses have in the future of the city.
