Street improvements underway
The Rugby street improvement project is underway, and there are many blocks of broken-up curb and gutter to prove it.
Removing and replacing curb and gutter and cracked driveway aprons is one of the first tasks for contractors of the $5 million project.
Despite cool weather this spring, construction is moving along, and eventually with warmer weather, repairs to the streets, including mill and overlay and seal coats, will occur. Also, some sections in rougher shape will get more extensive repairs.
Contractors, the project engineer and city officials meet weekly to review past work and highlight what’s ahead.
Motorists are asked to use caution when driving near the construction area as there is equipment at work. The project is expected to extend into October.
