City likely to resume search for public works supervisor
Rugby city officials earlier this year decided to suspend efforts to hire a public works supervisor, but with news of long-time street superintendent Jerome Voeller’s intentions to retire later this month, the search for a public works supervisor will likely resume, says Karla Harmel, city auditor-administrator.
A search committee did interview six candidates for the position late last year, and the city posted a salary range of $35,000 to $45,000, and budgeted $40,000 this year.
The position would perform a number of supervisory and administrative dutes that focus on the street and sewer and water departments. The person would also assist in day-to-day tasks with other city employees working in those departments.
Voeller has been employed with the city for 35 years.
