NCCRC housing Cass County inmates — temporarily
Severe flooding in Fargo forced Cass County jail officials to relocate its inmates to other area corrections facilities, including Rugby’s North Central Corrections and Rehabilitation Center (NCCRC).
Forty-seven Cass inmates, both men and women, were brought to the Rugby facility on March 27, according to Elaine Little, administrator.
“The Department of Corrections called on (other jail facilities) to help Cass if possible, so we contacted them.”
Little couldn’t say just how long the prisoners will be housed. “It could be two days or two weeks,’ she said. “We’ll just wait and see.”
Prior to the 47 being processed, the jail population at the NCCRC was 67. “We’re quite full now,’ ‘Little said.
In fact the 114 inmate population is the most the facility has held at one time since it opened in September of 2006.
