-Deandre Oneal Jackman, Minneapolis, Minn., pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of license display, canceled or fictitious license in Northeast Judicial Court at the Pierce County Courthouse, June 29. The charge stemmed from a May 26 arrest by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Judge Michael Hurly sentenced Jackman to a 30-day term at Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center, with 30 days suspended and 360 days of probation. Hurly also ordered Jackman to pay $350 in court fees.

– Patrick Dean Fayant, Rugby, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of domestic violence with bodily injury, second or subsequent offense, July 1. The charge came after Fayant’s arrest on June 24. Hurly ordered Fayant to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and any recommended treatment and file proof of completion with the court. Hurly also ordered Fayant to have no contact with the victim directly, indirectly, by electronic means or through a third party other than attorney or law enforcement for two years. Hurly also ordered Fayant to submit to random chemical testing for a period of two years and cover any costs incurred. Hurly sentenced Fayanta a 360-day term at HACTC, first serving 60 days, with two years of probation. Fayant was told to enroll in a domestic violence and complete any recommended treatment by March 1, 2023.

– Jeremy Nelson, Harvey, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a B misdemeanor charge of possession of at least half an ounce but less than 500 grams of marijuana. Both charges stemmed from a Nov. 7 arrest by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. He also pleaded guilty to a March 7 A misdemeanor charge of failure to appear as a witness or produce information. For the paraphernalia charge, Hurly sentenced Nelson to 360 days at HACTC, with 351 days suspended, credit for nine days served and 18 months of probation. For the drug charge, Nelson was sentenced to a 30-day term at HACTC, with 21 days suspended, credit for nine days served and 18 months of probation. Hurly sentenced Nelson to a 360-day term at HACTC for the failure to appear charge, with 351 days suspended and credit for nine days served. All sentences were concurrent.

– Bernard Allen Decoteau, Fargo, pleaded guilty on June 20 to several charges from a May 11 law enforcement pursuit and arrest in a field near Rugby. Decoteau pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of driving under a suspended or revoked license; a C felony charge of reckless endangerment; an A misdemeanor charge of possession of methamphetamine; an A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia; a C felony of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; a B misdemeanor charge of driving/operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor or drugs; a B misdemeanor charge of refusal of a chemical test, and an A felony charge for theft and possession of a vehicle valued at more than $50,000. Hurly ordered Decoteau to pay $17,974 in fees and restitution. He sentenced Decoteau to a 10-year term to be served concurrently for the charges, with a mandatory term of five years before he would be eligible for parole. Decoteau received credit for 41 days served at HACTC.
