– Andrew Huwe, Rugby, pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of DUI – .08 percent or greater, second offense in seven years before Judge Michael Hurly in Northeast District Court at the Pierce County Courthouse Oct. 25. Huwe had been cited for the offense Aug. 29. Hurly ordered Huwe to pay $1,775 in fees plus a $50 community service fee, submit to a chemical dependency evaluation and complete any recommended treatment beginning Oct. 25. Hurly also ordered Huwe to participate in a continuous alcohol monitoring program, called SCRAM, through Sept. 9, 2022. Additionally, Hurly sentenced Huwe to 100 hours of community service to be completed in lieu of a jail sentence. Huwe also pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of driving under suspension. Hurly sentenced Huwe to pay $25 in fees for the charge and serve 30 days at Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center (HACTC) with 30 days suspended and 360 days of probation.

– Gage Allen Balfour, Wahpeton, pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. Hurly ordered Balfour to complete a chemical dependency evaluation plus any recommended treatment by April 23, 2022, not consume, possess or purchase alcohol through Oct. 20, 2022 and violate no criminal laws in exchange for a sentence of 30 hours of community service. Hurly also ordered Balfour to submit to random alcohol testing through Oct. 20, 2022, serve a 10 day sentence at HACTC with 10 days suspended and pay $50 in community service fees plus $775 in court fees. Balfour also received a sentence of one year of probation.

– Sheila Delorme, Rugby, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of ingesting a controlled substance stemming from an arrest July 3. Hurly waived fees for the charge and gave Delorme credit for three days served at HACTC. Delorme also pleaded guilty to a C felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hurly sentenced Delorme to a two-year sentence with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with two years of supervised probation and credit for three days served. Hurly also ordered Delorme to pay $1,160 in fees and submit to random testing.

– Theodore Spiro Munyer, Rugby, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance, schedule II from an arrest July 24. Hurly ordered Munyer to serve 60 days at HACTC with 53 days suspended and credit for seven days served. Munyer also received a 360-day probation sentence concurrent with supervised probation through Pembina County. Additionally, Hurly ordered Munyer to pay $325 in fees, submit to random testing through Oct. 16, 2022 and begin a chemical dependency evaluation within 30 days of sentencing and complete any recommended treatment.
