– Erik Keller, Harvey, pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of propagation, domestication or possession of protected birds or animals in Northeast District Court at the Pierce County Courthouse Monday, Oct. 12. North Dakota Game and Fish officers filed the charges when they found wild, non-domesticated animals kept on property owned by Keller June 15. Judge Michael Hurly ordered Keller to pay $350 in total court fees. Keller is also facing charges for practicing taxidermy without a license in Wells County.

– Patrick Dean Fayant, Rugby, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an Aug. 7 arrest. On Oct. 12, Hurly ordered Fayant to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and immediately enroll in any recommended treatment program. Hurly also ordered Fayant to complete 30 hours of community service between Oct. 12 and Dec. 15, 2021. Fayant was also sentenced to a 60-day term at Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center, with 60 days suspended and 360 days of probation.

– Terry Eugene Montague, Lindstrom, Minn., pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of prohibitions on harmless wild birds filed by the North Dakota Department of Game and Fish. A game warden filed the charge when he witnessed Montague with two dead Greater Yellow Leg shore birds in his pickup truck seven miles north of York Oct. 5. Montague admitted to shooting the birds. On Oct. 18, Hurly accepted Montague’s guilty plea and ordered him to pay $350 in total court fees.
