DISTRICT COURT
— Joseph Andrew Edwards, Minot, pleaded guilty to a C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Judge Michael Hurly ordered Edwards to pay $1,100 in fees, serve a term of one year and one day confinement with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with one year and one day suspended and credit for 12 days served. Edwards was also ordered to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and complete recommended treatment.
Edwards also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay $25 in fees and sentenced to 360 days at the Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center, with 360 days suspended and credit for 12 days served.
— Melody Ann Rath, Towner, pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of failure to appear after release – bail jumping. Hurly ordered Rath to pay $250 in fees. Rath was sentenced to 60 days at the Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center with 60 days suspended, credit for 33 days served and 360 days of probation.
Rath also pleaded guilty to an A misdemeanor charge of menacing. She was ordered to pay $325 in fees and serve 60 days at the Heart of America Correctional and Treatment Center with 60 days suspended and credit for 33 days served, along with 360 days probation.
— Tyrone Daniel Youngbird, Minot, pleaded guilty to a B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, fighting behavior. Hurly issued an order deferring the imposition of a sentence and ordered Youngbird to complete anger management evaluation and recommended treatment, if any. Youngbird was also ordered to pay $250 in fines.
