Injury Crash West of Knox

By Staff | Oct 23, 2015

A Leeds man was injured Sunday in a rear-end crash two miles west of Knox.

A 1995 Ford F-250, driven by Dwayne Erie, 73, and a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado C2500, driven by Jeffrey Olson, 50, Williston, were heading west on Highway 2. Olson’s vehicle struck Erie’s horse trailer, causing it to detach and enter the median. The Ford entered the north ditch, rolling once. Olson’s vehicle continued down the road and came to rest on the north shoulder.

Erie sustained minor injuries. He was transported to the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby for medical treatment and was later released. The horse trailer contained three cows that sustained minor injuries.

Olson refused ambulatory care.

The Benson County Sheriff’s Office, Rugby Ambulance and the Rugby Fire Department responded to the crash, which is under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
