Community Chest taking applications

The Rugby Community Chest will kick off its annual fund drive May 5. Applications are now being accepted. If you are a non-profit organization interested in receiving funds from Rugby Community Chest, contact Khloe Sobolik at 776-5092 or 208-0830. Applications must be turned in by April 25.

Speedway schedule released

The 2014 racing schedule has been released for the Geographical Center Speedway.

Races are scheduled to start on May 16, with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Other dates on the schedule are June 6 & 11, July 11, and August 1 & 8. In the event a race is canceled due to inclement weather, August 29 has been left open.

Project seeking veterans who served at D-Day

Jonathan Ellis of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader is involved in a project in which they are trying to locate one veteran from every state who served in the D-Day invasion at Normandy. He is asking for help in locating a North Dakota veteran for the project. If anyone knows of such a person and is willing to share, send him the info at jonellis@argusleader.com or call 605-575-3629.
