Domestic Violence Crisis Center available in Rugby

By Staff | Nov 7, 2013

The Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Minot is in its 36th year of service to the Magic City and surrounding counties.

Area readers seeking crisis counseling and other services can do so through the center’s outreach in the McHenry and Pierce County courthouses. The rural community outreach takes place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon in Towner and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Rugby.

The services directed at victims of domestic violence and sexual assault are confidential and police are only notified upon request of the individual seeking the services. The center works with Rugby hotels in housing victims in crisis while a safer situation is arranged. Some area clergy assist as volunteers with the program.

For more information call 852-2258 or the area’s 24-hour hotline 857-2200. The 24-hour crisis hot line is 1-800-398-1098.
