By Staff | Oct 20, 2017

On October 1-2, 2017 the Rugby High School Future Business Leaders of America officer team attended the 76th Annual Fall Leadership Conference in Bismarck. FBLA members from across the state participated in the conference resulting in over 500 in attendance.

Conference attendees from the Rugby team were Morgan Hjelden, Amber Schmaltz, Rylee Kuntz, Jenna Wangler, Daniel Kearns, Mariah Pfeifer and Dessa Denich.

Members who attended the conference had the opportunity to participate in workshops focusing on elevating ones future, what exactly is required of them as an FBLA member, and how to be creative and work together. Keynote speaker and session presenter, Devin Henderson’s, speech entitled “If At First You Don’t Succeed, Fail, Fail Again” offered advice that “Failure is one of the surest stepping stones to success.” Through the leadership development component his message was “Share Your Magic. His message was simple: the better you make life for others, the better your life will be. In addition, chapters had an opportunity to work together in developing a program of activities for this year that focused on state and national FBLA programs.
