Future farmers in the nation’s capital

During the week of July 12-16, Rugby FFA members Abagail Volk, Breanna Thompson, Brett Berginski, and Advisor Kasey Okke traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the Washington Leadership Conference put on by the National FFA Organization. During the week, the members were involved in activities that increased their leadership potential, furthered their knowledge of the FFA, expanded their network by meeting FFA student leaders from across the United States, and got involved in a service project to help fight the ever-growing issue of world hunger. While in D.C., the group got to see a lot of sites as well; these included: The Washington Monument, Vietnam Memorial, World War 2 Memorial, The White House, Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Capitol Building. The Washington Leadership Conference has been going on since 1969, and has been positively influencing students, developing their leadership ability, and showing them the qualities and values that a great leader possesses since.
