Selland honored for academic achievement
St. Olaf College recently honored the following local students for their induction into a national honor society.
Rugby, ND: Anja Selland, daughter of Brian Selland and Sharon Baker-Dobro Slovo (the national Slavic honor society); Phi Beta Kappa (the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society); Russian Area Studies.

Area student participates in Concordia commencement
The attached is a list of students who participated in commencement exercises Sunday, May 1, at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. A total of 506 students participated. The attached list contains those students who completed the course work to graduate this spring/summer.
Fay Ferguson, a 1973 graduate, co-CEO of Burrell Communications Group (BCG) in Chicago, delivered the commencement address. Two honorary doctorates were given. The Faculty Senate and the Concordia College Board of Regents the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, was conferred upon Dr. Richard A. Green ’61 and Margaret M. Wong.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering more than 50 majors, including 15 honors majors and 12 preprofessional programs.
