Two Schmaltzes receive NDSU scholarships

Tyler Schmaltz, son of Donald and Sarah Schmaltz, Rugby, received the North Dakota State University Freshman Academic Scholarship in the amount of $4,000. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.

Schmaltz will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in engineering. In high school, he was active in golf, basketball, track and field, football, cross country, trap shooting, FFA, student council, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Sources of Strength, Science Olympiad and Academic Olympics.

Ashley Schmaltz, daughter of Nick and Jocinta Schmaltz, Towner, North Dakota, received the North Dakota State University Presidential Honor Scholarship in the amount of $10,000. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.

Schmaltz will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in biology or occupational therapy. In high school, she was active in student council, FFA, Future Business Leaders of America, Sources of Strength, National Honor Society, Catholic Youth Organization, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, basketball, volleyball and cross country.

Gronvold, Longie receive Elevator scholarships

Victor Gronvold, son of Bruce & Lori Gronvold, and Trevor Longie, son of Chuck & Shawna Longie, have each been awarded $250 scholarships from the Rugby Farmers Union Elevator.
