Beyond the Classroom: What’s up, Towner?

By Staff | Jan 16, 2015

As the new semester begins, approximately 30 students in grades 8-12 will begin preparing for the regional Science Olympiad competition held on the campus of Minot State University on March 16. The competition consists of a collection of various activities that provide an excellent enrichment opportunity for the students.

If you enjoy chocolate, the junior class is currently doing a fundraiser! Some of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward prom expenses. This year’s prom will be Saturday, April 11. Funds will also be used to help with next year’s senior expenses.

The National Honor Society is involved in several community service projects throughout the year. The most recent was helping coordinate a food drive for the local pantry before Christmas break. The NHS also sponsors two blood drives during the school year. Our next blood drive will be Wednesday, April 1, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Please consider donating! The NHS members will be attending a leadership conference in Bismarck in late April.

Judkins teaches science (grades 8-12), and serves as an adviser to the junior class and National Honor Society members.
