Beyond the Classroom: So what’s new at TGU?

By Staff | Dec 11, 2014

TGU students dance

Each year TGU-Granville and TGU-Towner K-6 students get the opportunity to perform a dance at halftime of a varsity basketball game. They practice a line dance, which is usually Christmas themed, for a few weeks in physical education class prior to the performance. The dance gives students the opportunity to perform in front of their family and friends. This season we are performing a line dance to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” on Jan. 9, when the TGU girls host Sawyer.

Students attend MSU Tech Day

Several TGU-Towner students had the opportunity to compete in Minot State University’s Tech Day on Dec. 3. Each year, business education students from Minot State University put together a business-related competition for area high school students to compete at. Students have the opportunity to showcase their skills in different business-related categories. The following students competed in this year’s competition: Selby Zahn, desktop publishing; MaKayla Ness, presentation design; Haylee Jones, introduction to business; and Samantha Drader, accounting. The students had a great day competing and learning at this year’s Tech Day.
