Students sing, play at Northwest Music Festival

Submitted Rugby High School students Jacob Berginski, Mariah Munyer, Allyson Kleespie, Alissa Volk, ReeAnn Christianson, Maria Mack, Darby Deckert and Elizabeth Skjelver participated in the Northwest Music Festival earlier this month.

Eight students from Rugby High School participated in the Northwest Festival of Music at Minot State University on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The festival was made up of four different groups – the nova choir, women’s choir, mixed choir and band. Each group was made up of about 100 students from across the state and eastern Montana. The students were selected from hundreds of recorded auditions sent to MSU.

RHS senior Jacob Berginski received a four-year award at the concert for his fourth consecutive year of participating in the festival.

The following RHS students were in the four groups:

Nova choir – Mariah Munyer

Women’s choir – Elizabeth Skjelver, Maria Mack and Alissa Volk

Mixed choir – Jacob Berginski

Band – ReeAnn Christianson, Darby Deckert and Allyson Kleespie
