Rugby Public Schools to promote anti-bullying

By Staff | Oct 3, 2014

Rugby High School and Ely Elementary will celebrate National Day for Bullying Awareness on Oct. 6. Students will join the national discussion by wearing blue.

The following day at 1:30 p.m., high school students will take in an EPIC Assembly. EPIC, an acronym for Empowering Performances Impacting Communities, is a group of performers who share their experiences and “inspire students to talk about their struggles with trusted people instead of turning to destructive behavior and lifestyles,” according to the EPIC website.

The 60-minute presentation includes drama, dancing, live music and spoken word. The group will cover bullying, suicide, self harm, addictions, domestic violence, abusive relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
