Leeds Science lesson

4th and 5th graders from Leeds Elementary enjoyed a science lesson given by Amy Bjorem and Scott Knoke from the NDSU Extension Service. Students paired together and assembled small robots, which they called “ecobots.” Students were given the task of using their ecobot to clean up a simulated toxic spill. Following the experiment, students used algebraic equations to determine the success of their clean-up efforts. ABOVE: Blayne Anderson and Seth O’Connell work on their ecobot. TOP RIGHT: Jayden Marguart and Carson Tracy assemble their robot. BOTTOM RIGHT: Kearyn Nelsen and Izik Burtchell work on their ecobot together.
