Leeds Elementary had 10 winning entries in art show

Leeds Elementary had 10 entries win at the 2012 North Dakota State Student Art Show held at the Taube Museum of Art in Minot.

The North Dakota State Student Art Show will run until Sun. April 29. Hours are 10:30-5:30 Tues.- Fri. and 11:00-4:00 on Saturday.

This year there were 581 entries from across the state. Blayne Anderson, Gr. 3 won the Northern Visions Award and will have his watercolor, “Sunflower”, hang in Senator Hoeven’s office for a year. Grade 5, Caitlyn Blazer’s watercolor, “Fall”, won the Taube Museum Art of Excellence Award.

Six students will particpate in the 2012 Traveling Art show: Ryan Wangler, Gr. 6, -two pictures, a watercolor, “Animal Eyes” and an ink stamping, “Cave Drawings”; Dillon Parent, Gr. 5, “Oriental Landscape”; Carson Tracy, Gr. 3, and his collage, “Chameleon”; Brock Hanson, Gr. 1, Japanese printed “Gyotaku Fish”; Zoe Lauckner,Gr. 4, “Myself”; and Shelby Follman, Gr. 4, “Tar Beach” collage.
