Little Flower 3rd graders learn about pioneers

By Staff | May 21, 2011

Third graders at Little Flower School recently read the book Sarah, Plain and Tall, which took them back in time to learn about the life of pioneers. On Thursday, May 5, they became pioneers. With costumes from home and Village Arts, homemade paper bonnets and hats, a sack lunch, and a beautiful day, the students set out to have a school day similar to the pioneers. They visited other classrooms explaining the difficult life pioneers faced, ate sack lunches under a tree, and played games the pioneers played. They finished the day by watching the movie Sarah, Plain and Tall. Pictured are, back row: (l-r) Miss Brossart, Collin Voeller, Trenton Sanford, Hayden Thingvold, and Jerry Brossart.
