Leeds students places 1st in stamp competition
Keaton Nelsen, 4th grader at Leeds Elementary, received 1st place in the grades 4-6 division of the State Fish Stamp Competition. The State Fish Stamp competition is open to all students in grades 4-12, and is sponsored by Wildlife Forever. He has been invited to attend the State Fish Expo in Athens, Texas, in June. As a 1st place winner, he is eligible for one of 13 national awards, which will be announced at the Expo. The national awards are selected by a panel of judges except for one, the People’s Choice Award. This award is determined by the number of online votes cast for each eligible participant.
