Schaan wins 3rd in district in Lions Peace Poster Contest

Shawn Schaan, Balta, who attends Little Flower School in Rugby, won third place in District 5NE of the Lions International Peace Poster contest.

The theme for this year’s contest was “Vision of Peace” -Bringing Peace to the World, Through One Child at a Time.

The contest was open to 11-, 12- and 13-year-old children around the world to share their visions of peace.

“People need to get to know each other better,” said the sixth grader, who drew a U.S. flag with a half world/half peace symbol. He was sponsored by the Rugby Lions Club.

Shawn is the son of Jay and Kerry Schaan, Balta.
