Rugby Homecoming week
It’s old home week in Rugby as students celebrate Homecoming.
A full slate of activities will be celebrated from Monday, September 13 through Friday, September 17, including coronation, dress-up days, class Olympics, a parade, a football game and dance.
Candidates have been selected for Homecoming Royalty with the coronation to take place on the football field at 7 p.m.
Homecoming Queen candidates and their parents are: Princess Rachel Allickson, daughter of Kevin and Teri Allickson; Princess Brittany Fritel, daughter of Kevin and Carol Fritel; Princess Jennifer Haman, daughter of Gary and Cindy Haman, Princess Lindsey Hamilton, daughter of Mark and Sue Hamilton; and Princess Jessica Jaeger, daughter of Don and Mary Ann Jaeger.
Homecoming King candidates and their parents are: Prince Jason Goetz, son of Todd and Sandi Munyer; Prince Eric Kuntz, son of Mark and Cindy Kuntz; Prince Levi Schaan, son of Richard and Cindy Schaan; Prince Thomas Swanson, son of Mike and Laura Swanson; and Prince Josh Tank, son of Roger Tank and Sherri Koble.
The students have planned a busy week with many activities. They are listed here by days of the week.
Monday, September 13
Monday is “Come As You Are” Day for the student body. Float decorating will be done from 4 -9:45 p.m. Coronation is at 7 p.m. at the football field. The Powder Puff Football Game and Bonfire begin at 7:30 p.m. at the football field. A JV football game at Carrington begins at 5 p.m. The 7th and 8th Volleyball Team will play Rolla in Rugby at 4p.m. The Cross Country Team will be at Cooperstown for a meet.
Tuesday, September 14
Tuesday is “Celebrity Look-A-Like Day for the student body. Float decorating will be done from 4:00 – 9:45 p.m. Volleyball Wells County ABC away beginning at 5:00 p.m. Leave at 3:15 p.m.
Wednesday, September 15
Wednesday is Student Body “Theme” Day with the following themes: 7th grade – “College Sports Team” Day; 8th grade – “Hunting Gear” Day; Freshmen – “Farm/Western” Day; Sophomores – “Fake an Injury” Day; Juniors – “Neon/Glitter” Day; Seniors – “Redneck” Day; and Teachers/Staff – “Alma Mater” (college or high school) Day. The high school and junior high Homecoming Olympics is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the gym.
Thursday, September 16
Thursday, September 16 is “John Hancock” Day for the student body. Float decorating will be done from 4:00 – 9:45 p.m. Volleyball home game with Rolette ABC beginning at 5:00 p.m. 7th grade Volleyball Team plays Rolette at home at 4:00 p.m. The 7th and 8th Football Team plays Bottineau at home at 4:30 p.m.
Friday, September 17
Friday is Panther Spirit “Orange, Black, and White” Day. Royalty luncheon and pictures with dismissal at 11:15 a.m. The Homecoming Parade will be held at 2 p.m. Please dismantle floats after parade. The Homecoming Game with Midway is at 7 p.m. with Parents Night taking place before the game at 6:40 p.m. The Homecoming Dance will follow the game for grades 9-12. The senior class is promoting a food drive along with the dance. For each person who brings a canned food item $1 will be subtracted from admission to the dance.
