The music departments at Ely Elementary and Little Flower Schools will be starting band for students in fifth and sixth grades. Students will be instructed by Gary Fulsebakke and Andee Mattson.

Practice will begin for the sixth grade on Monday, Aug. 30 and be held from 2:40 to 3:10 p.m. in the Ely cafeteria. The tentative start date for the fifth grade is Thursday, Sept. 9 from 2:10 to 2:40 p.m., also in the Ely cafeteria.

There will be an opportunity for parents to view and purchase or rent instruments on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. in the high school band room. Jacobsen’s Music will be there and members of the community who have instruments to sell are encouraged to attend.
