Several Rugby students earned star ratings at the state music festival earlier this month.

Five students sang solos and earned a star for superior performance. They included: Keenan Sattler, “Down Among the Dead Men”; Theresa Mack, “Kommit ein Schlanker”; David Miller, “When I Think Upon The Maidens”; Abigail Jenkins, “Pieta, Signore”; and Anne Schmaltz, “Like Any Foolish Moth I Fly.”

Several Rugby groups also earned superior ratings.

T. Mack and Rachel Mack earned one for their duet of: “For the Beauty of the Earth”; T. Mack, Jenkins, Schmaltz for “Stand Upon the Rock”; T. Mack, Jenkins, Schmaltz and Sattler for “When the Day Comes”; T. Mack, A. Hovland, C. Hovland, Schmaltz, Jenkins and R. Mack with “Maidens Remember.”

C. Hovland, A. Hovland, Carly Wise, Kristen Mundahl, Kirstan Salwey, Kassie Stoltman, R. Mack, Leigha Schmaltz and Ricca Laframboise received an excellent rating for their performance of “Charlottown
