“Hats for Haiti”

By Staff | Feb 12, 2010

Ely Elementary’s two third grade classes spearheaded an effort to raise funds last month for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The students, with the help of teachers and students in the other grades in the school districts, including Little Flower, collected $1,336 through a “Hats for Haiti” project. Students made donations, and in return, were allowed to wear a hat one day at school. At Ely, nearly $700 was raised, including a $200 donation from the Rugby Jaycees.
