Several Rugby FFA members had high finishes at the District 3 Leadership Conference earlier this fall, helping the chapter earn the “Chapter of the Day” award.

The Rugby FFA Quiz Team was district champs and will advance to the state competition next June. Receiving individual gold awards: Zach Rameden, Michael Ostrem and Josh Stutrud. Rameden recorded the highest score in the competition. Receiving individual silver awards: Josie Klein and Andrew Hershey.

The Greenhand Quiz Team received a silver award. Receiving an individual gold award: Kayla Koehmstedt. Receiving a silver award: Laura Harper. Receiving bronze awards: Jordan Brossart, Matt Johnson and Mckayla Cichos.

Other placewinners: Kris Leier received a gold award in reciting the FFA creed…Jacey Shively received a gold award in extemporaneous public speaking…Kent Schmaltz and Jayden Welk received a silver third place award in the Demonstration Contest…Josie Klein received a silver award in the Memorized Public Speaking contest…Kelsey Mongeon received a gold award in the Job Interview contest…Zach Rameden competed in the Ambassador contest and was named the District 3 Ambassador. He will advance to the state competition in June…K. Leier also received a $500 SAE grant.

Rugby’s FFA Parliamentary Procedure team also won gold at districts and went on to successfully defend their state title.
