RHS to conduct Homecoming activities
It will be a busy, but fun-filled week for Rugby Jr.-Sr. High students, Sept. 21-25.
An assortment of activities are planned for the school’s Homecoming. The highlights include coronation, class olympics, a bonfire, a football game and dance.
Here’s a schedule of the events.
-Monday, Sept. 21, the dress up day is ‘Got Milk?’…There will be class float decorating from 4 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
-Tuesday, Sept. 22, the dress up day is ‘come as you are’..The student council will be serving a breakfast of pop tarts, muffins and juice for $1 before classes…The Panther Paw Hunt contest will start. Clues are given and the student who locates the hidden panther paw receives free admission to the dance…There again will be class float decorating from 4 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
-Wednesday, Sept. 23, the dress up day is ‘class theme’ (Seniors: redneck; Juniors: sunglasses-hats; Sophomores: hippy; Freshmen: plaid-stripes; Eighth grade: inside out; Seventh grade: sports team)…The Panther Paw Hunt continues….There will be class float decorating from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
-Thursday, Sept. 24, the dress up day is ‘John Hancock Day’ and students are asked to wear their Homecoming T-shirt and have it signed by classmates…The homecoming Olympics will be held in the Charles Hanneman Gymnasium beginning at 2 p.m…The Panther Paw Hunt contest will conclude…The coronation will be at 7 p.m. at Johnsen Field…The powder puff football and bonfire will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the football field.
-Friday, Sept. 25, the dress up day is ‘Spirit Day’ and students should wear orange, black and white… The parade will start at 2 p.m. with the football game at 7 p.m…The dance following the game at the city armory and is open to students in grades 9-12. The cost is $4 for singles and $6 for couples. Doors close at 10:30 p.m. and the dance ends at midnight.
