Rolette crowns Homecoming King and Queen

By Staff | Sep 3, 2009

Well, the queen was crowned prior to the Rolette Homecoming coronation, but the suspense was who would be the king.

Whitney Belgarde – the only girl in the senior class – was the unanimous choice for queen.

Four senior boys – Josh Casavant, Blake Nelson, Dillon Dionne and Taylor Gottbreht -were nominated to be king, and during a school assembly on Aug. 31, Casavant was chosen.

Parents of the Homecoming candidates were: Whitney Belgarde, daughter of Tracy and Travis Casavant; Josh Casavant, son of Sonia Casavant and Eddie Casavant; Blake Nelson, son of Suz and Arnell Nelson; Dillon Dionne, son of Kristie and Damian Dionne; and Taylor Gottbreht, son of Sherie and Troy Gottbreht.

The school held its Homecoming festivities quite early this year in large part due to its football schedule. Just two football games are played in Rolette, The first was on Friday, Sept. 4; the other was on Oct. 16. And the latter would have been too late in the fall to hold Homecoming activities.
