Little Flower students participate in Radon poster contest

Little Flower School students recently participated in a radon poster contest sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Health and the American Lung Association of North Dakota. Justin Otto, Department of Health radon coordinator, presented the awards to the following fifth grade students at Little Flower School:

Ashley Schmaltz, 1st place in her class at Little Flower and second in the state; Devin Vetsch, 2nd in his class; and Meranda Schmaltz, 3rd in her class. The other students who participated in the contest included:?Rebekah Wangler, Lauren Kraft, Shannon Ripplinger, Spencer Koehmstedt, Piper Laughridge and Ethan Clements. Julie Mosher is the fifth grade teacher at Little Flower.

All the students received a home radon detection kit for participating. A. Schmaltz received a number of prizes for placing second in the state. Vetsch and M. Schmaltz also received some prizes.
