Students take part at state Science Olympiad
Five Rugby students took part in the state Science Olympiad held April 18 in Fargo. The students qualified by placing high enough at the regional event earlier this spring. The five who competed were: Tommy Schwartz, Tyler Larson, Kristin Migler, Alyssa Berginski and Marina Laughridge. They competed in Physics Lab, Trajectory, Electric Vehicle, Disease Detective, Remote Sensing, Chemistry Lab, Elevated Bridge and Herpetology. The students’ goal was to finish in these events quicker than their rivals, and they managed to do so in several categores, said Karen Richter, program advisor and science teacher. Other students from Rugby qualified but did not attend due to prom also on April 18.
