A hot day in Rugby provided a good reason for Isabella Slaugbaugh, Wolford, to set up a lemonade stand at the corner of Main Avenue and Second Street Southeast on Aug. 5.

“This was her idea,” Isabella’s mom, Lori Slaubaugh said. “We bought the sugar and ingredients, and she made it all.”

Isabella, 11, sold her lemonade, made from lemon juice, sugar and water, for $1 per cup, to raise some cash for herself.

Her older sister, Courtney, 13, and brother, Colin, 7, helped her out. All the Slaubaugh children said they’re homeschool students in Wolford.

Although Isabella Slaubaugh said being in business appealed to her, she plans to pursue a career as a massage therapist when she grows up.
