McAtee, Selland receive NDTC scholarships
2012 Rugby High School graduates Anja Selland and David McAtee are two of 10 students who have received scholarships from the North Dakota Telephone Company.
The ten students were chosen to receive $750 each through the NDTC College Scholarship program.
Association looking for the working women of WWII
The American Rosie the Riveter Association is looking for local women who worked on the home front during World War II.
The Association is in the process of collecting stories from women who supported the war effort from the home front for their archives.

Pierce County holding hazard mitigation plan meeting
Pierce County is holding a public meeting to review of the draft 2013 Pierce County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Otter Tail Power Company meeting room in Rugby. Public comments will be accepted at this meeting.
The draft plan can be viewed at the Pierce County Courthouse, Rugby City Hall, and on the county’s website.
The draft Pierce County plan includes a profile of the county and the cities in the county, the planning process; a risk assessment of thirteen hazards from summer and winter storms to rural fires and hazardous materials release; mitigation strategies, maps and forms to assist in the implementation of the plan.
Harvey women’s group holding luncheon
The Christian Women’s Club of Harvey and the surrounding area will be having a “Cup of Christmas” coffee luncheon on Monday, Dec. 10 at the Harvey Presentation Center. The luncheon will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will feature Marge McClanahan from “Cup and a Prayer” coffee shop Brandon, S.D.
There will also be music provided by Harvey Elementary students and Sue Faul.
