Kate Ferrian and Brandon Schmaltz announce their upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Randy and Jackie Ferrian, Plymouth, Minn., and Joe and Mary Schmaltz, Rugby.

Kate is a 2003 graduate of Armstrong High School in Plymouth, and a 2007 graduate of Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis with a degree in hospitality and event management. She is employed at SALO in Minneapolis.

Brandon is a 1999 graduate of Rugby High School, and a 2003 graduate of NDSU with a degree in business administration. He is employed at United Auto Credit Corporation in Minneapolis.

They will be married Saturday, Oct. 2 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Wayzata, Minn. A reception and dance will follow at the Plymouth Creek Center, Plymouth.
