Paul Urias knows that when people think of pizza, they also think of delivery. At Big Pauly’s, located at 105 Highway 2 SE, delivery is free and the food is always delicious.

With a variety of menu options, extending far beyond pizza, Big Pauly’s has something for everyone.

All items are made in-house, by hand, with fresh ingredients. “This is as fresh as you can get it,” Urias, owner, said. “It’s quality food. You’re paying for quality, so we want it fresh, and we want good service.”

Big Pauly’s menu features crowd favorites such as chicken wings, Bavarian pretzels, chicken quesadilla, salads, pound steak burger, ribs, pasta and more.

The chicken quesadilla comes with tender bits of seasoned chicken, onions, green peppers and melted cheese, served with sour cream and Big Pauly’s homemade Pico de Gallo.

The Chicken Caesar Salad is tossed and is guaranteed to make mouths water.

Chicken wings are available bone-in or boneless. The 10-piece boneless wings can be made BBQ, buffalo or plain and come with ranch or bleu cheese dipping sauce. The seven piece bone-in wings are made buffalo spiced. BBQ sauce is available for no extra charge.

Pasta is also available, with choices of spaghetti, sausage and pepper with penne, chicken fettuccini Alfredo and linguine carbonara.

“We take the time to put extra care into the food. I wouldn’t sell it if I wouldn’t eat it,” Urias said, a sentiment that rings true in every dish he and his staff makes.

What Big Pauly’s is best known for, of course, is its pizza. Big Pauly’s offers seven specialty pizzas, along with the option to “build your own.” Specialty pizzas include the Belly Buster, Three Little Pigs, Bacon Cheeseburger, B.P. Taco Pizza, Hawaiian Dream, BBQ Chicken Pizza and Buffalo Chicken Pizza.

Pizzas come in three sizes, small, medium and large. The small pizza is new, a more personal option starting at $7. Up to three toppings can be added onto the small pizza.

Both the lunch and dinner buffet includes all-you-can-eat pizza and salad from the salad bar and a drink. Each day, there is also an extra “secret item” added to the buffet. The buffet is $7.99 regularly and $4.99 for children.

Desserts will also be added to the buffet in the upcoming future at Big Pauly’s. Urias says items such as banana pudding, apple turnovers and Big Pauly’s famous donuts will be featured. Currently, customers can order a dozen of the cinnamon sugar mini-donuts for $3.50.

Currently, Big Pauly’s is in the process of its reopening, as Urias calls it. The restaurant now features televisions, free wifi and beer.

For the entire month of January, beer will be sold at $2 for domestics and $2.50 for imports. Big Pauly’s is also selling its lb. steak burger for $4.99, two dollars less than listed on the menu.

Another promotion featured at the restaurant includes “Big Pauly’s Pizza Dough,” which are $1 off coupons that customers will receive with every order and are good towards the next pizza purchase.

Big Pauly’s also honors the Rugby Booster Card.

“Keep in mind, there is no other restaurant in town that will bring food to your door,” Urias said. Because not every house has visible numbers and because Big Pauly’s is short staffed, Urias says that delivering can be challenging, but he always finds a way. Urias wants to remind customers that their food, while may take a little longer to get there, will always arrive hot.

Big Pauly’s is hiring, especially delivery drivers. Those interested should have great customer service skills. Big Pauly’s is an equal opportunity employer. However, because those at Big Pauly’s hold education at high priority, high school students showing low grades will not be hired.

Since its opening six months ago, Big Pauly’s has seen great encouragement from the community. “We appreciate the support from the town and everyone’s feedback. After spending eight years in the Williston community, I appreciate being welcomed by this community in Rugby,” Urias said. “There is nowhere else I would rather run this business. I feel at home here.”

The buffet will be open on Christmas Eve, a Saturday, until 9 p.m. Big Pauly’s will be closed on Christmas Day and the day after.

Big Pauly’s is open regularly Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. -8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sundays from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. A noon buffet will also be available on Sundays in the future.

Delivery is available during all business hours.
