Dallas Norman Johnson, 78, Minot, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at his home under hospice care.

He was born June 27, 1941, in Rugby, to George and Mildred (Harwood) Johnson. He was raised on a farm two miles SE of Fillmore and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1959. In 1959, he married Geraldine Ione Erck from Esmond. They were later divorced. He graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science with an electrical degree.

Dallas worked at various electrical contractors in Minot and out of state. Some of Dallas' notable projects were electrical general foreman for the construction of the Minot State College Dome and the Coal Gasification Plant in Beulah. He retired in 2000. Dallas married Ardis (Bott) Boughton in 1977.

Dallas was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, and the Electrical Workers Union, Local 714. He and Ardis were avid motorcyclists and members of several local cruising clubs over the years. His real passion was taking on complex electronic/electrical and mechanical projects from ground up design to fabrication. He was also a master wood craftsman and gunsmith.

Family: wife, Ardis, Minot; sons, Ronald Dallas Johnson, Port Orchard, Wash., Richard Eric Johnson, Port Orange, Fla.; stepson, Bryce Ronald Boughton, Kenmare; step-daughter, Stacy Lynn Bjornstad, Maplewood, Minn.; grandchildren, Andrew Dallas Johnson, Ellie Marie Bjornstad, Griffin Lee Bjornstad, Rosalie Faye Bjornstad; brother, Robert (Loretta) Johnson, Minot; sister, Kathleen (Clark) Gaebel, Fargo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dallas was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Mildred Johnson; and son, Robert Dean Johnson.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, rural Minot.

Family Service: 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at the church.

Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, at the church.
