Terry Baglien

Dec. 28, 1946 - Feb. 15, 2019

Terry Baglien, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Placentia, CA on Friday, February 15, 2019. A celebration of his life will be held at Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim, CA on Wednesday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Towner Presbyterian Church in Towner, ND on Friday, July 5, at 11:00 a.m.

Terry was born in Rugby, ND on December 28, 1946 to Oscar Melvin Baglien and Rachel Myra (Kenney) Baglien. He was raised in Towner, ND and graduated from Towner High School in 1965. Terry was involved in school activities including basketball, band and student council. Terry also worked part time for his father building houses in the community.

Terry attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1969. Following graduation Terry began working as an Engineer in the Autonetics

Division of Rockwell International in Anaheim, CA.

On May 17, 1973 Terry married Jean Knudson in Evergreen, CO. They purchased their home in Placentia, CA in 1974 and it was here that they raised their two daughters, Tami and Erika. Terry enjoyed

bowling, playing cards, coaching soccer, camping, fishing, going to Angels baseball games, Rams football games, tossing the ball around in the front yard and annual road trips to North Dakota to

visit family and friends.

In March 2002, Terry retired from The Boeing Company (formerly Rockwell International) where he had specialized in inertial navigation systems for 32 years. In retirement Terry enjoyed luncheons with former

colleagues, building furniture for his family, traveling and spending time with his four grandchildren. Terry will forever be remembered by his family and friends as hard-working, humble, loving and kind.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean; children, Tami (Scott) Mayer and Erika (James) Stout; grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Riley and Crosby; brothers, Loren and Brian; sister-in-law, Anita Baglien-Nelson;

brother-in-law, Warner Knudson; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald; sister, Ellen Ann Odden and brother-in-law, Telmer Odden; sisters-in-law, Carlene Baglien and Dallas Knudson; father-in-law, Clifford Knudson and mother-in-law, Ethel Knudson; great-niece, Jessica Baglien; and great-nephew, Kyle Bauer.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the American Diabetes Association, the Parkinson's Foundation, the Berwick Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
