March 30, 2018
Pierce County Tribune

Haylee Miron, Rugby High School senior is the recipient of the 2018 Carol Shively Memorial Scholarship.

Miron will be attending the University of North Dakota in the fall of 2018. She is among 20 students accepted into direct admission. Direct admission is an early admission program for pre-nursing students who have exemplary academic performance during high school.

She says, "From a young age I knew I wanted to go pursue a degree in the medial field. After volunteering at HAMC in the Care Center, I completed the necessary classes to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA), and have worked in the Care Center for almost 2 years. Because of these experiences, I have a better understanding of what nursing is about and what it takes to do the job."
